If you see someone being harassed, alert a safety or legal observer immediately.
Document responsibly and safely. We take collective care seriously. Your safety and the safety of our most vulnerable neighbors matter to us.
You have the right to protest peacefully. The First Amendment protects your right to assemble, march, chant, and hold signs in public spaces.
You have the right to remain silent. You do not have to answer questions from law enforcement or ICE agents. You can say: “I am exercising my right to remain silent.”
You do not have to consent to searches. If asked, you can clearly state: “I do not consent to any searches.”
You may document police activity in public spaces, as long as you are not interfering.
If you are detained or arrested:
Ask, “Am I being detained, or am I free to go?”
If detained, ask for a lawyer and remain silent.
Do not sign anything without legal counsel.
Look out for one another. If you see law enforcement or ICE activity, alert a marshal or legal observer immediately.
